Hello Troop 380 Scouts and families!
The weekly message is coming early for this week because much of the Troop will be at summer camp. For those of you who are not going to camp this week, remember: there is NO TROOP MEETING MONDAY 6/29.
Camp Meriwether – Tomorrow!
We are excited to leave for Camp Meriwether tomorrow! A few reminders:
- Please arrive at Nyecon by 3:30 AM for final packing and arrangements. We will be leaving promptly at 4:00 AM and head to Oregon!
- The forecast calls for lots of rain while we are there, so make sure to bring quality rain gear. Your red T380 sweatshirt will not cut it, you need good rain gear!
- Make sure your meds are properly noted on the T380 Medication Form and that they are in the original containers. Don’t send more medication than your scout needs in case they misplace it during the week.
Top Golf Fundraiser
- Sunday, August 2 from 5-7 PM
- Please sign up at the next Troop meeting or email me directly at Dustintrute@gmail.com directly and I can put you on the list. We already have 30 participants and we need a minimum of 40 to go. I look forward to calling Topgolf and adding more bays for us to use!
- Cost is $20 per participant and includes 2 hours of play and unlimited fountain drinks.
- Please pay the treasurer and sign up if you are going!
Troop 380 Golf Night
Thank you to Gary for hosting yet another year of this troop-favorite event! We will also be holding a golf training session at the troop meeting on July 27. Make sure to sign up for this yearly tradition!

- Bradshaw Ranch Golf Course, 7350 Bradshaw Road
- Cost is $15 per golfer and includes a hot dog dinner
- Prizes for competitions at the course including longest drive, closest to the hole, and putting.

Long Lake Backpacking Trip
This trip has officially been rescheduled for August 7-9. Stay tuned for more details from Michael Speer. As a reminder, if you are going on the Philmont trek next summer, this is a prerequisite for that trip.
Night at the Drive-in! – Save the Date 8/14
We are working on a trip to the Sacramento Drive-Ins on August 14. More details to follow!
Upcoming Courts of Honor
Mark your calendars for these upcoming celebrations:
- August 15: Nicky Belt’s Eagle Court of Honor will take place at Cordova City Hall at 5PM. Look out for invitations in the coming weeks!
- August 22: Triple Eagle CoH! Join us at our home church to celebrate three of our newest Eagle Scouts: Lucas, Nathan, and Eric. Stay tuned for more information and invitations!
- August 24: Troop Summer Court of Honor – Come support your scouts and celebrate their summer success! More details to follow!
GCC Complete Angler Weekend
Want to Earn 3 Merit Badges in a Weekend? The Greater California Council (formerly the Golden Empire Council) is offering a special weekend opportunity to earn three fishing related merit badges and improve your fishing skills. This event fills up very fast so don’t hesitate to register to guarantee your spot at the Complete Angle Weekend.
- October 2-4
- Gibson Ranch County Park
- Fishing Merit Badge, Fly Fishing Merit Badge, and Fish & Wildlife Management Merit Badge, and Scouts may also earn the Complete Angler Award if they make a presentation at the Troop or Patrol following the weekend.
- $85.00 per scout for the weekend; adults $40.00 if they are assisting our scouts. This includes all program materials, event t-shirt, event patch and camping fees, but not meals (more details to follow after registration).
