Good morning, Troop 380!
First, Golf Night will now be August 17. Thank you to Gary for rescheduling this beloved event so quickly, and thank you to everyone for the quick pivot and your understanding for the late cancellation. Further details below. Fingers crossed for better weather!
Second, I would like to take a moment to thank all of the scouts who attended our yearly PLC Calendar Planning Meeting and for their engagement in setting our calendar for 2027. We have a busy year planned and I think we did a really good job of ensuring that we are keeping the troop busy while not overloading ourselves. I would also like to thank Nate Roth for wasting no time and creating a spreadsheet for the year. I was planning on doing that today but, thankfully, he already had it covered! I have attached a copy of that spreadsheet to this email.
This year, we are going to try something new with adult leadership and see how it goes. As you can see on this spreadsheet, there are two adult leader positions available for each event. The first one is for a more seasoned adult leader who has led events in the past and understands the process. The second column is for an “adult chair-in-training,” someone who may be a bit newer to the role and who may not have led many events in the past. Our goal is to build confidence in each of our adult leaders and allow them to learn how to better lead events in the future. As we always like to say, many hands make light work, and this is a perfect example of that! Please take a moment to look through this list of events and let me know if you are interested in leading or learning to lead for each of these events. It is very important that we fill each of these roles because the troop cannot put on these events without adult leadership.
During the calendar meeting, the PLC elected to attend two summer camps this year. The first will be Camp High-Sierra from June 20-26, 2027. The second will be Camp Winton from July 4-10, 2027. We understand that High-Sierra falls on Father’s Day and Camp Winton falls on Independence day but, with Philmont occurring during the same season, we were limited on available weeks. More information will follow in the next couple months as we begin to prepare for summer camp next year, but we thought you might want to save these dates!

Life to Eagle Seminar – All adults are requested to attend this presentation put on by Michael Speer. Families will learn how to navigate the advancement process as their Scout works towards their Eagle rank
