Scoutmaster Minute June 21, 2026

Good morning, Troop 380 family!

First, I would like to take a moment to wish a very special Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads, stepdads, grandpas, and others who are like fathers to the Scouts in our Troop. The difference you make in your Scout’s life, as well as the lives of every Scout in 380, cannot be overstated. Thank you for all that you do!

As a reminder, our monthly Patrol Leader’s Council and committee meeting have been pushed up a week due to our expedition to Camp Meriwether.

  • The PLC will meet Tomorrow 6/22 at 6:15 before the troop meeting. All troop leadership should attend the PLC!
  • The committee meeting will take place on Tuesday 6/23 at 7:00 at Atonement Lutheran Church.  Any and all interested adults should attend the committee meeting.  Attending the committee meeting is the best way to stay informed on how best to support your scout!

Next Troop Meeting – Tomorrow

  • Class B Uniforms
  • ASPL Elections: We will be holding ASPL elections, and the youth will elect a new ASPL to serve for the next year. Make sure your Scout is in attendance to cast their very important vote!
  • Special Summer of 2026 Troop 380 T-shirts:  Pick up your Special Troop 380 Summer of 2026 T-shirt if you have not done so.  We also have a few extra t-shirts available! Please see Dave or Chris Ishikawa if you would like a shirt.

Camp Meriwether

Our trip to Camp Meriwether is finally upon us!
  • Tomorrow:
    • Bring your backpacks to the Troop Meeting; we will be loading the trailer for the trip.
    • Bring you money for the bank, which will be available to your Scout during the trip. As a reminder, cash for the bank should be in 1’s and 5’s so that the summer camp store doesn’t run out of change.
    • Pick up your Special Troop 380 Summer of 2026 T-shirt if you have not done so.
  • Departure Day:
    • We are leaving this Saturday, June 27. Please arrive at Nyecon at 3:30 AM in the morning, so that we can load up and be on the road ASAP.  We have reservations at the Air and Space Museum in McMinnville OR and we don’t want to be late!
    • Make sure to bring a day pack for the trip that includes snacks, water bottle, and a little pocket money for Saturday.
    • Don’t forget your Merit Badge Class Schedule for the trip.
    • We will be traveling in Troop 380 Class A Uniforms, but you may want to take it off in the vehicle while driving. Bring a class B red t-shirt underneath or have in your daypack available to change into.
