Good morning and Happy Sunday, Troop 380 Scouts and Families –

I wanted to relay three messages of thanks about some recent events. Enthusiasm and consistent participation in Troop, District, and other regional events is what makes Troop 380 great!

Pinewood Derby
The Three Rivers District hosted their annual Pinewood Derby Championships yesterday. Many thanks to the Pit Crew members from T380: Angela Anderson, Tiernan Anderson, Torsten Anderson, Ben Roth, Nate Roth, Theo Roth, Jacob Scharlach, Michael Speer, Vanessa Speer, and Owen Turlo. Please wear your special Pinewood Derby Shirts you received to the Troop meeting tomorrow.

A Message from District Chairperson and T380 Scoutmaster Emeritus, Dave Ishikawa

One of the privileges I have is to serve as the Three Rivers District Chairperson. The Three Rivers District serves the Packs, Troops, Crews, Ships and Post in the Sacramento, Elk Grove, part of Rancho Cordova, and Amador County. I am so grateful to the members of Troop 380 for their support of troop, district, and council.

Recently Jose Zavala, our District Executive, made the annual Friends of Scouting presentation. Our troop families donated over $5,000.00 to the Friends of Scouting campaign. Also, over the weekend, 34 of our Troop 380 families attended the first ever Greater California Council Trail to Table Wine Tasting Event at Bogle Family Vineyards.  This was a very special event featuring dinner, wine tasting and auction. I estimate our Troop 380 Family donated over $20,000.00 to this event. I am so proud of the contributions that our Troop 380 family brings to support the youth in our community.

However, the financial support is not the only thing that we can be proud of. The leadership provided during the recent Scout Expo has been ongoing in its planning for over a year and a half.  Other Scouters in our unit lend guidance to training, the National Jamboree, Order of the Arrow,  District Committee and Roundtables, Twilight Camp, Pinewood Derby, and of course fundraising like Camp Cards and Popcorn. Our Troop 380 leaders are truly the heart and soul of our district and council. Please know as District Chairperson I am so proud to be a Troop 380 member and former Scoutmaster.

A Message from
Giuliane Belt

First, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who contributed snacks for our Court of Honor. Your support truly makes these events special for our Scouts!
I have two bags of chips that were brought, but not used. I’ll bring them to the troop meeting tomorrow in case the family who donated them would like to take them back.

Also, I was taking pictures, and if anyone would like to take a look, here is the link:

Second, good news — the Scout Sunday patches have arrived! Please remind your Scout to bring the small sample patch I handed out at the Court of Honor so they can exchange it for the real one at the upcoming .

Lastly, I want to express my gratitude for the kind words and the thoughtful card your Scouts signed for me regarding my mother’s passing. Your kindness and support mean so much to me.

Great job, everyone! Let’s keep it up as we head into our busy spring and summer seasons of activities!
