Scoutmasters Minute – 9/29/2024

Wow, what an incredibly eventful scouting week it has been! It all kicked off with a well-attended open house last Monday which saw over 17 potential scouts showing interest in joining our troop in the future. The highlight of the evening was when one eager scout signed up on the spot. A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped run the various stations – the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. Special recognition goes to Belle and Nate for their exceptional planning and leadership on this project. And let’s not forget to mention the delicious blueberry cobbler that was enjoyed by all!

Our monthly parents’ meeting on Tuesday night was another success with a sincere thank you to all who attended. We discussed important upcoming events and reviewed the new dues for 2025 ensuring transparency and understanding among our troop families. Additionally, we explored exciting new fundraiser opportunities that will not only benefit our troop but also bring us closer together as a community. It was a productive and informative meeting setting the stage for successful events in the future that will be beneficial for all involved.

On Saturday our team had the opportunity to set up a recruiting booth at the Rosemont Community Day celebration. It was a great chance for us to engage with numerous families who showed interest in learning more about the scouting program. We are extremely grateful to Sarah, Savannah alters, and Owen for their invaluable assistance at the booth. A special shoutout goes to Dustin Trute and Robert Mills for their exceptional leadership in organizing and coordinating this event. Their dedication and hard work truly made a difference in spreading awareness about the benefits of scouting to the community.

Overall this past week has been filled with excitement, teamwork, and positive energy within our troop. We are grateful for the support and dedication of our members both new and existing who continue to make our scouting experience rich and rewarding. As we look ahead to future events and opportunities we are confident that our troop will continue to grow and thrive thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of everyone involved.
