Scoutmasters Minute – June 12, 2024

Greetings All,

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there! Today is a special day to celebrate and honor all the amazing dads who work hard to provide for their families and support their children in every way possible. Fathers play a crucial role in shaping the lives of their children, teaching them important values, and being a constant source of love and guidance. Let’s take this opportunity to show our appreciation for everything that fathers do and to thank them for their unwavering dedication and love.

• ASPL Elections: For the Candidates who have declared that they are running in these elections, We will meet with you and your parents on Monday, June 17th before the Troop Meeting at 6:00 PM.  You will serve as ASPL from July 2024 to February 2025 and as Senior Patrol Leader from March 2025 to June 2025.  This leadership position will serve as SPL at the next Road Trip /summer camp and lead the 2025 Spring Court of Honor. Please see Neil or me if you are interested in running for this position.  Elections will be held at the June 17th Troop Meeting.

• Troop Parent Meeting: Tuesday, June 18, 2024, 7:00 PM, at the Atonement Lutheran Church. Matt Okamoto would like all parents to come out and support your scout and the troop by participating in our monthly parent meeting. Please show your support by attending our monthly meetings. Not only will you learn about the troop, but you will be helping to create a wonderful program for your scout.

• Tri-Tip Feed Committee Meeting: We will host our first organization and planning meeting for our Tri-Tip Feed on Monday, June 17, Before the troop meeting. Anybody wishing to participate should be on hand to start the planning. Remember many hands make light work.

• Camp Hi Sierra:  We are less than a week away from our departure to Camp Hi Sierra.  Please make sure you attend the Troop Meeting on Monday for a last-minute review of camp preparations, we will meet right after the troop meeting.  Dave has sent out a copy of the merit badge schedules.  Please review your schedule.  Some of you are on the waitlist for some classes.  We will see what we can do once we arrive in camp.  We will load for camp on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Nyecon, Inc. at 6:30 PM.  Please let me know if you can assist.  Make sure you have at least one (preferably 2 or more) Troop 380 Red T-shirt and a Troop 380 red sweatshirt.  Don’t forget your Hawaiian Shirt.
  

• Nicky Belt’s Eagle Scout Project: Nicky is excited to announce that he will be working on his Eagle Scout Project on two separate dates, July 6th and August 3rd, from 9:00 to 12:00, at Mac Weir’s hangar located at 9925 Grant Line Road in Elk Grove. Don’t forget to wear your class B t-shirt and come hungry as food will be provided for all volunteers. Nicky’s project involves constructing two Backpack carts for Northridge Elementary School in Fair Oaks. Your support and assistance are greatly appreciated in helping Nicky accomplish this meaningful project. • Sacramento Republic FC vs. Pittsburgh Riverhounds FC Match: Saturday, August 3, 2024, 7:00 PM, at Heart Health Park.  The following individuals have reserved tickets, please make sure you make payment to our treasurer for your tickets.  Tickets are $22.00.  Please let us know at the next meeting if you need a ticket.  We can purchase more, but we need to act soon.
