Disability Awareness Day at the VA

On Saturday, August 25, 2018, the Scouts of Troop 380 participated in a disability awareness training. Scouts had the opportunity to explore the different disabilities that affect millions of people. These disabilities included visible and invisible disabilities. Scouts met with 2 Veterans who have prosthetic legs. The Veterans told scouts about their experiences and welcomed questions from the scouts. Following the interview, scouts were able to experience some of the challenges that those with disabilities deal with daily. This included poor fine motor skills, vision issues and other physical disabilities. Many thanks to Rochelle Huber, the VA and the Veterans who help make the Disability Awareness day happen.
