Cache Creek Event

We had a great time at Cache Creek yesterday. The day started very cold, but everyone warmed up fairly quickly as we got going digging up invasive grasses, stinkweed and horehound from the saltgrass area at the conservancy. Peter and Mary were able to work on their Environmental Science merit badges and 8 scouts got credit for 3 hours of conservation service. Nobody wanted to quit at the end of the event, but everyone was delighted to get their tasty burgers at In-N-Out afterward 😊

Drew did a good job as Scout in Charge- he checked off attendance, made sure everyone took water breaks and led the hike to the beaver dam using the hiking-hike-on calls. I liked working with him, I thought he was a good leader.
