This year saw a new venue for the annual SMUD picnic held this year on August 15, 2009. That morning Troop 380 met early at Rancho Seco Regional Park to set up for the annual SMUD picnic. Over 100 Scouts, Scouters and family members helped set up the food tents with serving tables, barbeques, ice chests, food, condiments and paper products. In addition, we set up tables and chairs for eating, and set up the registration and prize booths and displays. With the lake as our backdrop, SMUD employees played games, chose from the famous Troop 380 barbequed tri-tip, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs and fried chicken. The DJ and his crew kept the place hopping with a wide variety of music giving the party a festive atmosphere. Thank you to both Laura Born and Zenaida Kamine for their hard work organizing the event.
