On Friday the 22nd of March, we left for Camp Nauvoo from Dave’s House. We arrived later that day, pitched the tents, and ate sack lunches in the lodge. The next day, we woke up and got about cooking pancakes and sausages for breakfast. Later that day, we took the new scouts through various stations to learn important skills, while the older scouts worked on their pioneering merit badge, practicing rope tossing and lashing together a small tower. The new scouts also went on a short hike. We finished up the day with a game of Capture the Flag, and ate dutch oven cobbler for desert. The next morning, we set about clearing up the camp for the Court of Honor, arranging tables, breaking camp, and preparing the new scouts to perform a flag ceremony. We served pasta, salad, and cake to the parents when they arrived. The Court of Honor itself went well: numerous merit badges and ranks were awarded, and the new scouts were presented with their neckerchiefs and hats. When the ceremony was over, we got into the cars and went back to Dave’s house to unpack the trailer.
