Mother Rafting Trip

On Saturday, Aug. 18, fifteen Scouts and their mothers set off in 4 rafts from the Sunrise put-in on the lower American River, accompanied by Dave Ishikawa and Mike Kuykendall in the rafts and Peter Brown as a safety boater in his kayak. Although the day began overcast, by mid-morning the sun was beating down on the Sacramento Valley, making it a perfect day for dousing one another with water fired from water shooters and slapped toward the other rafts with oars.
