On Friday February 27th we left for the Klondike Derby. We turned around after leaving because there was an accident on the freeway. We left Saturday morning at 6am heading to the North Tahoe Regional Park. There were 8 Scouts and 3 adults. The ride was fine until we had to stop and put on snow chains. I was the Scout in Charge and SPL. I did my best to lead our patrol during the competition. We won two second place and one third place ribbons. Our sledge was bigger and heavier than the other patrols so we got tired and came in last place. Some of the boys that played in the snow and got wet were very cold and sad. After they changed into dry clothes and got warm by the fire, they were happy again. On Sunday we attended the scout’s own service and then packed up and left for home.
