Troop 380 Geology outing. Thanks to our very knowledgeable geologist Mr. Ben Heninburg for counseling the Scouts on the Geology MB.They had the opportunity to observe differences in composition the Mehrten Formation, Fair Oaks and Arroyo Seco Gravels. They discussed macroscopic and microscopic features of rocks and minerals as we hiked around the hill that forms the northern shore of Lake Natoma. They also: Observed hardness, gravity, color, size, form and relationships in the rocks formation. Interpreted the Geological and Topography map of CA. Learned about education, training and career opportunities in Geology. It was a beautiful day and very productive for our Scout working on their requirements!
