On Saturday January 17th we traveled to Fort Ross-HSP located along the western coast of Sonoma County. There were 20 Scouts and 6 adults in attendance. As the Scout in Charge, Josh Z. with help from SPL Austin M and ASPL Bryan H. all did fine job of leading camp setup, firewood wood stacking and fence repair service projects, cooking, skits, and songs. On Sunday morning we fired the cannon before heading to Salt Point SP. After setting up camp at Salt Point, we practiced our map and compass skills as we hiked to the Pygmy Forest area. A few scouts and parents visited Gerstle Cove Marine located nearby. After dinner we enjoyed skits and songs performed by the scouts and completed the evening with cobbler prepared by the scouts.
