Five Scouts and three Scouters tackled Donner Summit backpacking over 5 miles round trip in the snow to Round Valley and Peter Grubb Hut. The Scouts spent two nights in the back country and worked well together to ensure everyone was safe and everyone had a great time. We encountered a great snow storm on the first night with it clearing out the following morning providing breathtaking sunny views with six inches of fresh snow. The group experienced great food and a warm fire, great games, and terrific camaraderie.
