Troop 380 Christmas Tree Recycling Project began on December 20, 2014 with the troop passing out flyers in the Rosemont, Mather and Vineyard housing areas. This is the most important day in the annual fundraiser and we had a good troop turn out and the flyers were distributed in record time!
The first Christmas tree pick up day was January 3, 2015 and the second and final day was January 10, 2015. There was a total of 375 trees collected this year. During this fundraiser Troop 380 had a total of 86 scouts/parents working for a total of 680 hours and $3,777.34 was collected to be put in scout accounts according to how many hours they and their parents worked on the fundraiser.
Many adult leaders assisted in this project by driving their cars, trucks and trailers and picking up trees. Other adults worked in organizing the project by setting up the phone line; website; getting flyers printed; cooking lunch; providing breakfast snacks; taking calls for tree pick-up etc. It was a true team effort!
This project is an important fundraiser for our troop but it also helps to remove trees and dispose of them properly. Many families in our area support the troop every year and Troop 380 appreciates the support!
