The troop’s annual golf night took place on June 29th at Bradshaw Ranch Golf Course. We started out the previous Monday with all the Scouts practicing their swing and learning to putt. Those that putted into the hole won a special “Sponge Bob” golf ball. The practice night gives every Scout the chance to try their hand at golf, even if they haven’t played before. And hopefully Page | 5
gives them the courage to come out on Wednesday night to the golf course and try nine holes!
Over 40 people turned out at the golf course. Besides playing the nine holes, we had a Closest to the Pin contest and a Putting Contest. And what would a Scout event be without food! Thanks to Joan and Mark Stretars for arranging for hot dogs, chips and cookies for everyone after the worked up an appetite on the course!
Our winners for the evening were:
Best Foursome: Charles Potter, Charlie P., Jesse M., and Ed D’Amico
Closest to the Pin: Charles Potter
Putting Contest: Scouts – Darien J., Adults – Jack Chiang
