The objective of the Scouting program is to build leaders. Youth leaders make mistakes and don’t always make the right decisions, but they learn by their mistakes and become better leaders. It often appears as though the Troop is run by the scouts instead of the adult leaders; it appears that way because it is altogether true.
Troop 380 has both a boys troop and a girls troop with separate adult leadership. The boys troop and the girls troop are structured into Patrols consisting of (usually) 6-12 scouts of similar rank and/or age. The cohesion of each troop is maintained by a Senior Patrol Leader and their two assistants, together forming the Leadership team.
