One Friday evening 32 people from Troop 380, left for the Fashoda campground in the Crystal Basin State Park next to the Union Valley Reservoir. When we got there we got busy setting up tents, eat dinner then off to bed. The next morning after scrambled eggs in a bag for breakfast we went canoeing. Luckily it wasn’t too windy we had had a great time on the water, and in it. After a bit of splashing Floyd, Wei & Dru overturned their canoe which gave Dave a great chance to have them demonstrate water rescue. After lunch everyone had a chance to try their hand at water rescue, for some, like me it wasn’t really hard. That night dinner was some great tasting “Ghetto Gumbo” and since it was Freddy’s birthday we had cookies, ice cream and cinnamon rolls. Sunday morning was another day of canoeing, we went into a little cove and practiced going straight then we went to shore, packed up the canoes on the trailer, had flags and a scouts own service then headed home. On the way home we had lunch at our favorite stop… In n’ Out Burger. It was a great weekend Thanks Peter for planning it, Dave and all of the leaders for helping!
