Scouts met at the Round Table Pizza Parlor on Keifer Boulevard at 8:30am. We were meeting to start our annual Scouting for Food event where we are paired up with the Sacramento Food Bank. We help them collect non-perishable items of food to be distributed to those who are in need. For this event, we had 37 scouts sign in throughout the day along with nearly 50 adults to help out. We also got a little bit of help from the Cub Scouts of Pack 380. In total, we had nearly 100 participants in Scouting for Food which is a huge improvement than last year. We the improvement on people showing up, we were also able to collect more food as well. In fact, we collected about 4400 pounds of food which is about 2.2 tons. With nearly 4100 cans, I would like to express my thanks to all that helped out and supported those who are in need of help.
