Every month on the second Thursday, the Capital City District hosts an event for scout leaders called Roundtable. Roundtable serves as an excellent opportunity for adults to learn about upcoming events, find out about program features, and share what other units are doing with their respective programs. At the March Roundtable we hosted an Open House, bringing together over 40 exhibitors to share resources with the scouters in our district and council. As the coordinator of the event I want to thank all the Troop 380 exhibitors who contributed to this great event: Frank Shaw (NRA), Ralph Merrill and Jimmie Garcia (Sacramento Valley Garden Railway Society), Zachary Kamine (High Adventure Bases), Kim Perry-Reed, Cindy Brock, and Cindy Frazier (Pack 380), Mike McLelland (Giant Jenga), Mac Cameron (Troop 380 Golf Tournament Promotion), Ben Heningburg and Joseph Jacobs (STEM/Nova), Johnie Pennington (ATV programs), Chris Ishikawa (World Jamboree and giveaways), Sharon Jonas (training), Charles Potter, Wei Hsieh, and Peter Brown (Dutch Oven Cooking), Jason Jonas (Kind), Norm Parker (Wood Badge) and Paul Keefer (climbing). Thanks to the over 20 Troop 380 Scouts that participated in the opening ceremony and helped everyone set up and break down the event. Also thank you to Naomi Mellerski and Zenaida Kamine for their help with the evening. As you can see the 380 family once again was the dominant contributor to another district/council event. Only two other units had representatives in more than one exhibit. Thank you to everyone.
