Troop 380 had a very successful Capital City District Spring Camporee (April 5 – 7) experience. The Wolverines won top honors as “Best Patrol” and to top it off they won the coveted “Golden Plunger” for their patrol spirit. The Wolverines brought home the plunger and a brand new Dutch Oven. The Howling Wolves won the Dutch Oven Cooking Contest with the Panthers coming in third. All our patrols did an outstanding job by placing in many of the events. Our troop won second place for Campsite Inspection, yes your scouts are neat and clean.
I want to thank all the adults that assisted at the Spring Camporee over the past weekend. Many thanks to Neil Ishikawa, Dustin Trute, Phil Allen, Kim Perry-Reed, Tonia Cameron, and Amber Long for spending the whole weekend at River Bend Park. Also thank you to Mark Stretars, Joanie Stretars, Cory Stewart, Ron Fredman, Johnie Pennington, and Mike Kuykendall for their assistance during the day on Saturday. We ate well thanks to Kim Allen. The steaks were wonderful. Also a big hand to Ben Heningburg, Mike Bogue, Christian Heningburg and Gary Smilkstein for serving on the Spring Camporee Staff with the Order of the Arrow. It was a great event.
