Russian River Canoeing

On the morning of Saturday, June 22, 2013, Troop 380 set off for the Russian River in Sonoma County. As part of the canoeing preparation for the Bowron Lakes trip next summer, Scouts and leaders ran the river from Forestville to Gurneville, a total of 15 miles. The weather was perfect for canoeing down the gentle flowing Russian River. We enjoyed a great lunch next to the river and some great water fights. After pulling out the canoes, the crew headed for Camp Royaneh for an overnight stay. We feasted on bar b que steaks and Sloughhouse corn. It was a great meal. Many thanks to Mac Cameron and Chris Ishikawa who assisted with meals and pulling the canoe trailer.
