On Sunday, December 4th, we went on a hike up Mt. Diablo. We had 14 scouts and 12 adults who went. We split up into two groups. Logan was the scout in charge of group A and I was in the Scout charge of group B. We went 8 miles round trip; 4miles up 4 miles down with and elevation gain of 2,170 feet. The views at the summit were spectacular. We could see the skyline of San Francisco on the west side. We could also see the snow capped Sierra Nevada mountains on the East side. It was a fun trip and all of us had enjoyed the trip. We only had 2 injuries the whole hike. We had lunch at the top of the Peak. It was a 5 hour trip to the summit and back. This hiking trip is one of the Rim Of The Bay hikes, of which we had 5 hikers earn their first RIM OF THE BAY patch. We would recommend this trip to all of our Scouts. We will need go back sometime soon.
